Ekaterine Chikvaidze
Ekaterine Chikvaidze - Director and co-founder of the Oriental Academy. Ekaterine is an experienced orientalist and Japanese language specialist holding a master’s degree in Oriental Studies. With over 20 years of professional experience across the fields of education, translation, digital marketing and communications, she brings a well-rounded and interdisciplinary perspective to her work. Her career reflects a deep commitment to promoting high-quality language education and intercultural understanding. Known for her exceptional organizational skills, punctuality, effective communication, and forward-thinking approach, she has played a central role in shaping the Academy’s academic vision and operational growth. Under her leadership, the Academy has established itself as a dynamic and inclusive environment for learners of all ages, offering structured, modern, and culturally rich language programs. She continues to lead the development and promotion of the Academy with dedication and clarity of purpose.
Natalia Barnabishvili
Co-Founder of Oriental Academy. Entrepreneur and executive manager with experience in organizations across the education and hospitality industries.
Education: M.A. in Oriental Studies – Institute of Asia and Africa, with a major in Japanese language.
Ana Kavtaradze
Ana Kavtaradze is the co-founder of the Oriental Academy. She holds a Master’s degree in Japanese Language and Journalism from the Free University – Institute of Asia and Africa in Tbilisi, Georgia. Her academic journey also includes studies of Japanese Philology at St. Petersburg University and participation in the Japanese Language Program for Foreign-Service Officers and Public Officials at The Japan Foundation Language Institute, Kansai (Osaka, Japan).
With over a decade of experience in diplomatic and international relations, Ana served as the Administrative, Consular, and Business Development Officer at the Embassy of Japan in Georgia from 2009 to 2023. Her professional background and deep knowledge of Japanese language and culture are foundational to the vision and mission of the Academy.
